Shelby 427 at Las Vegas: "Say Goodnight Gracie"

I swear I will tell you this week why this blog is called The "Biff" Files but for now it's time to talk about this week's race in Las Vegas.

As a Kurt and Kyle fan I am always cheering for one of them to win. While Kyle got the pole he had to go to the back because of changing the engine earlier in the week. If anyone could come from the back to win it would be Kyle. Kurt looked great in the opening laps but he fell off the pace and ended up finishing 23rd. With Kenseth and Ragan blowing engines early it was anyone's guess whether or not Biffle, McMurray, and Edwards would make it.

After about a zillion cautions for Mark Martin losing an engine, Denny Hamlin spinning, Jeff Gordon blowing a tire (sorry I forgot them all) Jeff Burton became the leader of the race. During the final 50 laps Kyle blew by the leader. Over his radio you could hear him, in classic Kyle fashion, say "Say Goodnight Gracie". And that was it. Kyle, on his home track, walked away with the win. He did his signature bow and kissed the start finish line.

On a Biffle related note: Greg Biffle managed to keep his engine from blowing like his Roush/Fenway teammates to finish 7th.

During the race I spent time on Twitter chatting with tons of fans from around the US. It was awesome. If you are on twitter be sure to add me. I am @trappedinoffice. It was a great way to discuss the race, talk about our favorite drivers, and meet other fans. Can't wait until next week.

**On NASCAR Victory Lane on Speed TV they asked Kyle about the Goodnight Gracie line - He said it was his spotter...still it was classic.
**Kyle celebrated in victory lane with his team - His brother Kurt came over to congratulate him. That was great!
